The Aulina Family, with its different branches —Collaborators, Friends, Aulines Fraternity, relatives of the “Operarias,” and members of Associations— reflects the prophetic vision of Magdalena Aulina when in 1933 she said:
The reconquest of souls for Christ will be achieved more easily and in a more stable way on the day when, to advance at the forefront of this apostolic mission as a shock troop, there is an army of lay people ready to live their own lives inflamed by a charity that at times must reach heroism…
La
he Aulinian Family responds to the broad vision and evangelizing mission that the Holy Spirit inspired in Magdalena Aulina, who longed and dreamed of “building up the Church.” She was deeply aware that we are all children of God and that Jesus Christ gave His life and redeemed all people; therefore, by virtue of baptism, we are all called to holiness.
It is within this “everyone” that Magdalena’s original mission was centered, embracing entire families and men and women of every condition.
Today, the Church fully recognizes the “universal call” to holiness. The Holy Spirit had already made this clear to Magdalena at the beginning of the last century: lay people, families, priests, and religious collaborated with this strong and clear-sighted woman who urged everyone toward holiness. All of them formed “Casa Nostra,” the emblematic name chosen by Magdalena herself.
Today, just as in the past, Magdalena’s intuitions, her desire to “build up the Church,” her spirituality—simple and profound at the same time—this ordinary, natural life lived in a supernatural way, made up of small acts yet filled with love, continues to attract many. Spontaneous groups of friends and collaborators have emerged, and the Aulinian Fraternity has been established with a more structured program. Priests and religious take interest in Magdalena’s charism and spirituality, in the depth of her message, entirely rooted in the Gospel. All of them form the Aulina Family.
