Like Martha and Mary
The center of our spiritual life is the love of Christ, with a special devotion to Mary, Mother of the Redeemer.
Our life of piety is founded on the three theological virtues: faith, hope, and charity. We serve the Church by following the guidance of the Pope.
Magdalena Aulina desired that our entire life be a fusion of contemplation and action: to be both Martha and Mary. A life filled with love, with self-giving, and with a constant attitude of service; and this is possible only through a committed union with Christ.
All of this is reflected in Our Emblem.
We, the Operarias, carry out the mission of evangelization in the place where we live, just as the Foundress desired, “serving the needs that arise in the Church,” in the midst of the realities of this world, by promoting a laity that is conscious of its baptismal responsibilities.
Magdalena Aulina’s driving force was “building up the Church” by promoting Christian life within families, for she would say that “only through a renewed Christianization of families can society improve.”
Magdalena Aulina also said in 1933: “Let us strive to make an atmosphere of new life and authentic Gospel practice flourish around us. The Institute, following Christ, invites everyone to holiness in their own state of life, in their own environment.”
